Questions
What is Lofifest?
A virtual lofi festival you can open any time. Every record by Purrple Cat becomes a set, the sets are grouped onto six stages, and the stages play their running order back to back. It is a fun way to listen, not a real event.
Is it a real festival or a live stream?
No. There are no tickets, no venue and no live performers, and nothing is broadcast. The music plays from files in your own browser. The “live” stage clock just works out which song would be playing now if the stage had been running all day.
How does “Tune in live” work?
Each stage loops its running order on a shared clock. When you press Tune in, your browser works out where that loop is right now and starts there, so anyone who tunes in to the same stage at the same moment hears the same song.
What are the set times?
Set times are just playlist runs. Each stage starts its running order at 14:00 and plays its sets back to back with no gaps. A set lasts exactly as long as the record. “Next on air” shows when a set comes round again on the live clock, in your time zone.
Who is playing?
Every set is by Purrple Cat. The “line-up” is the Purrple Cat catalogue: albums, EPs and singles, from the earliest records to the newest. 500+ songs in total.
Can I use the music in my videos and streams?
Yes. All the music is CC BY 4.0. Use it in videos and livestreams on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and other social platforms, with credit. There is a copy button for the credit line on every page.
Can I share a line-up poster?
Yes. The Line-up page has the full festival poster, and a poster maker where you pick your favourite sets, name your festival and download a PNG or copy a link to share.
What can’t I do with the music?
Please don’t upload it to music streaming services such as Spotify or Apple Music, and no remixes, samples or covers of it there either. Don’t claim you made it. Everything else, with credit, is fine.
